Kelsey Kay MA, LCPC

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor

Hi, my name is Kelsey Kay, I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. I earned my master's degree from Rosalind Franklin University of Medical Sciences in Clinical Counseling. I have over four years’ experience focusing on treating individuals and families suffering from substance abuse and comorbid disorders. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for children, adolescents and adults. My main age focus group ranges from six to twelve years of age.  I focus on Cognitive Behavioral Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), anger issues, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. I have a range of methods that I use from Person Centered Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy to empower them, Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Game Therapy, and going to the park, so the kids can feel more comfortable.

I was born and raised in Frankfort, Illinois, and I feel a great sense of gratitude that I can help kids in and around this area. I feel a sense of connection to them because I was raised in Frankfort, I can relate to them more knowing the school district and background to build a stronger relationship.

I love to travel, I’ve been to Paris, Switzerland, Amsterdam and Italy, it has opened a world perspective to me. It helped my perception as a therapist, that I’m not just focused on one culture, but multiculturalism. Being able to travel and have these experiences, taught me the world is so big and influential and the effects it has on our kids and society. I’ll forever be a child at heart. I make it my mission to go to Disneyland at least every two years. I for one, am a animal lover and whenever I get a chance I volunteer at animal shelter.
