Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor
Hi, my name is Melissa; I am a licensed professional counselor. I received my master’s degree in Clinical Psychology with a subspecialty in childhood and adolescence from Benedictine University. I have over 3 years experience in working with children and adolescence with a variety of different emotional and behavioral problems. I also work with people who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavior Modification, and Play Therapy for children and adolescents. My main focus is on children and adolescents with a variety of different mental illnesses including depression, anxiety, ADHD, and autism. I am dedicated to helping clients achieve their goals, and providing a caring and empathetic environment to help clients to build skills to live more fulfilling lives.
I love animals! I currently have two dogs, two sugar gliders, hedgehog, turtle, and a gecko as pets. Along with all my pets, I enjoy going to the zoo, and try to go at least a couple times a year.
